Edinburgh locals had their heads craned up towards the sky on Thursday after catching a glimpse of three military helicopters.
The army Chinooks were seen making their way across the city not long after 1pm and could be heard from quite a distance away as they headed east.
Mostly clear blue skies made ideal weather for people out and about to get a good look, with a video taken by twitter user @GirlinMountains showing the three helicopters clearly as they flew over the city.
The trio could be seen to travel in perfect synchrony, however it has not been confirmed whether or not the teams were on a mission or training exercise.
Video taken of the flight also captured the dull roar of the machines that could be heard for miles around Edinburgh for a short time.
