A terrified Edinburgh neighbour has spoken of the moment a man threatening to blow up his house and "chop up" police officers - triggering a mass evacuation of their scheme.
The resident, of Stillhouse Loan, Kirkliston, captured various images of armed police surrounding the home of Thomas Currie on July 6, 2022, following a stand-off with emergency services.
On Thursday, February 2, Currie pled guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. One resident reported that he threatened to "chop up" cops while claiming to be in possession of a samurai sword.

The terrified resident said: "I heard the man shouting 'I have fireworks ready to explode, I have knives and I will chop your heads off', this was all to the police.
"He was at his window then ran out the house with the knife and said 'come on then' to three police officers. The police shouted to drop the knife and he threw it down which the police put in a patrol car.
"There was also a police negotiator on the scene and officers with shields. The gas board also turned up and then an armed response unit."
Images from the scene show part of the estate taped off by officers, with the fire service also present as well as multiple force vehicles. Currie's actions prompted the evacuation of several homes following his threats to blow his house up in a gas explosion.
Footage also captured the moment armed officers shouted at Currie to surrender and open the door to his home. There were over ten police vehicles present in the estate during the incident, which lasted two hours.
Officers eventually forced entry to the property and detained Currie. Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard how the incident was initially reported as a disturbance after Currie discovered his "six-year romance" had come to an end.
