With summer in full swing, Edinburgh's beer gardens and restaurants are booked out weekend after weekend as locals sap up the summer sun.
Yet as our straw poll illustrates, prices can differ greatly, so here's our pint-sized price guide to some of the city's favourite watering holes.
Below is a list of some of the most popular pub crawl haunts, and how much they charge for an average pint.
The Standing Order - JD Wetherspoons - George Street
A popular haunt for students and locals alike, The Standing Order on George Street is the perfect pub for a cheap drink and some good food.
The cheapest pint, however, is a Bud Light, priced at just £2.59 a go!
Other popular beers on draught are Tennent's Lager, which is £3.85 a pint, or if you prefer a craft beer, a Brewdog Punk IPA is only £3.95 per glass.
Brewhemia - Market Street
A woodsy-chic pub with fancy outdoor lighting and stunning interior decor, this public house seems like a step up from your normal, local pub.
And the prices certainly reflect this, with the cheapest pint coming in at £5.70. This particular pint is called a Schofferhofer, and is the world's first grapefruit wheat beer.
So, if unusual drinks and exciting decor is what you're after, then the price hike shouldn't be an issue.
Frankenstein - George IV Bridge
Frankenstein is a unique themed pub on George IV Bridge, the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, just stone’s throw away from the popular tourist destinations along the Royal Mile.
It's cheapest pint is the ever reliable Tennent's Lager, at £4.70 a pint. This is quite the hike in price compared to the Wetherspoons, but it is in a much different setting.
So, if horror-themed nights and a pub that celebrates Halloween everyday is to your taste, then Frankenstein's is the pub for you!
Fiddler's Arms - Grassmarket
Sitting at the edge of the popular Grassmarket street, the Fiddler's Arms is a modern twist on typical Scottish food and drink.
It's cheapest pint is Belgian pilsner Stella Artois, priced at £4.80 a pint. Other favourites include Hop House 13, Stropramen and Joker IPA.
Around 4 pounds seems to be the benchmark for most pints in Edinburgh, which takes us onto our final pub...
The Abbotsford Bar and Restaurant - Rose Street
A popular restaurant with a twist on traditional Scottish classics, this establishment is well-loved by locals.
The cheapest pint is Irish classic Guinness, which comes in at £4.80 a pint, quite a good deal for a Guinness!
Other classics include Estrella Damm, Caledonia Best and Budweiser.
Cold Town House - Grassmarket
If you are looking for something a little bit different, then Cold Town House is the pub for you!
Instead of just paying for one pint, there is an option for a four or six pint tower, for you and your mates to share and enjoy, instead of making unnecessary trips to the bar.
A four pint tower is £19, which comes in at only £4.75 a pint. Or, you could upgrade to the six pint tower, which equates to £4.60 a pint or £28 altogether.
It is a unique and interesting way to order drinks, and lessens the amount of people ordering at the busy bar.
The Three Sisters - Cowgate
The Three Sisters pub on Cowgate is a famous haunt for those sports fanatics amongst us, with their giant beanbags and picnic benches to watch all things football, rugby or cricket outside on their projector screens.
In terms of pints, the likes of Tennents, Innis & Gunn and Corona are all on draught, with the cheapest at £4.60 for the Tennent's.
If you have a footie fan in your family or group of friends, get them down to the Three Sisters before the Euros are over!
Fierce Beer - Rose Street
This unique craft bar is solely focused on bringing the brand of Fierce Beer to the streets of Edinburgh, after the popularity of Brewdog and other independent breweries began to take off.
Most pints are around the £5 mark, with the cheapest being their Fierce Beer Pilsner at £4.70. Due to IPA's and Ales being much stronger, this tends to be why they are more expensive for a pint.
So, if you have a hipster in your group who won't stop talking about independent breweries, take them to this bar and quench their thirst.
Froth and Flame - Morrison Street
The first establishment under the Froth & Flame concept, this restaurant serves a mixture of craft and International beers, alongside typical Italian cuisine.
It's cheapest draught beer is a pint called Charisma, described as a smooth, bready body with a fresh citrusy taste. It is only £4.20, one of the cheapest beers on this list.
If Italian food and affordable beer is what you're after, then Froth and Flame is the place to visit.
The Piper's Rest - Hunter Square, Royal Mile
Ranked at #1 on TripAdvisors website for food and drink, The Piper's Rest is a public house and restaurant focusing on traditional Scottish food with a modern twist.
The cheapest pint is, of course, Tennent's Lager at £4.75 a pint, with other offerings including Heineken, Birra Moretti and Amstel.
In terms of good, old-fashioned pints and modern Scottish food, The Piper's Rest is the ideal spot to visit.
So, there you have it! The cheapest place you can get a pint is, of course, a Wetherspoons. The swankier the pub is, the more expensive the pint gets, so you get more of an experience with your drinks.
