Edinburgh pub urges customers 'get a Covid test now' after staff outbreak

A pub in Edinburgh has urged customers to get tested for coronavirus as soon as possible after 'some' members of their team tested positive.

City centre watering hole The Bow Bar issued a series of tweets just after 1.30pm this afternoon sharing the news which they feared 'would finally happen'.

The bar will now close for 10 days, but owners of the pub near Edinburgh Castle have shared a series of dates which should be of concern to customers.

The Bow Bar did not specify how many members of staff tested positive for the virus but warned that if customers had visited over a three-day period they may have come into contact with a positive Covid case.

They tweeted : "It has finally happened - some of our staff have tested positive for Covid. We will now be closed for the next 10 days, hopefully opening on June 26th. We will keep you up to date.

"If you were in the bar on the following dates - June 11th June 12th June 13th - you may have been in contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid. Please take a rapid test to make sure you are safe, and if showing symptoms to book a test."
