Edinburgh pub has window punched in by raging drinker rejected from venue

A popular Edinburgh restaurant and pub has been 'proven right' after a fuming drinker smashed their window in after being refused entry to the venue.

The Ox, a cosy bar and eatery located at the bottom of Broughton Street shared an image of the extensive damage to their main window, describing the incident as 'one of the joys of running a pub'.

According an Instagram post shared by the pub this morning, two drinkers had tried to enter the building before being knocked back.

In their anger at being refused admission to the bar, one of the pair decided to take their rage out on the venue's window.

The Ox wrote on Instagram alongside an image of the damage: "One of the joys of running a pub, when you knock back two jakeys and one decides to punch the window to prove you right!".

One local commented: "I hope his hand is very very sore today."

Another added: "No, no, no. This so awful, I'm sorry guys."

Edinburgh Live have contacted Police Scotland for comment.
