Edinburgh property: what you can buy for under £100K across the capital

One hundred thousand pounds can still get you a lot in today’s society - a MB&F Horological Machines watch or a Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni, for instance.

But what kind of property can a budget of £100,000 set you up with in Edinburgh, according to today’s property market?

Listed below is a collection of properties in the capital we have found for under £100,000.

First up is a second floor flat in the Slateford area of Edinburgh, with the asking price sitting at £65,000.

Marketed by Mov8 Real Estate, this property has 'light decor and extensive contemporary flooring, features include a fitted kitchen with appliances and modern bathroom suites.'

This flat is situated in an Eco development part of Slateford, just west of Edinburgh city centre.

If a more traditional look is to your taste, this retirement property is up for sale in Haddington for offers over £90,000.

This well-presented two-bedroom ground floor flat is close to the centre of popular Haddington town, and has access to well-maintained communal grounds.

It is listed by Lindsays, and is available for viewings by appointment only.

The cheapest property on the ESPC website is a lock-up garage in New Winton, for offers over £22,500.

The garage is brick-built, secure and in excellent condition, according to marketers McKinnon Forbes.

The lock-up is located to the left of the Winton Court residences, and is just on the outskirts of Tranent.

In the close by area of Tranent, this first floor flat is up for grabs at just £32,500.

Marketed by Paris Steele Property, this two-bedroom flat is a 'modern and well-presented property, located nine miles east of Edinburgh city centre and seven miles north west of Haddington.'

This fresh-looking property is well designed inside, with some funky flooring in the kitchen, and is a perfect opportunity for any small family or couple looking for a small mortgage.

The final property that we found in Edinburgh was a property just under the £100,000 mark.

This one-bedroom, first floor flat in Leith is on the market for £99,950.

The Bonnington Road address is described as boasting 'desirable open-plan living and elevated, cityscape views.'

It is also within walking distance to popular attractions, such as the fashionable Shore and the picturesque Water of Leith.

Overall, all of these properties could be seen to be better investments of such a large sum of money, rather than a fast car or a fancy watch.
