Edinburgh prison serial killer Peter Tobin rushed to hospital after collapsing in Saughton

Serial killer Peter Tobin was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary last night after collapsing in the city's Saughton prison.

The murderer, who is suspected to be suffering from cancer, is serving life sentences for killing three young girls between 1991 and 2006.

In recent years, evil Tobin has been rushed to hospital on several occasions - once with stroke symptoms. However, medics found no evidence of a problem, Daily Record reports.

The 75-year-old was jailed in 2008 for the murder of 15-year-old Vicky Hamilton after she disappeared from a bus stop in Bathgate in 1991.

He is also serving a life term for the murder of Dinah McNicol, 18, of Tillingham in Essex.

In 2017, both of the girls' bodies were found in the garden of a house in Margate, Kent, that Tobin moved to from Bathgate.

He also raped and killed Polish student Angelika Kluk, 23, whose body was found under the floorboards of a church in Anderston, Glasgow.

Tobin has also been linked to a string of unsolved deaths across the UK, including three unsolved murders of women committed by mysterious Bible John that took place in 1968 and 1969. As his health deteriorated, Tobin opened up about his crimes and possible killings that were not made public.

The murderer's prison mate said: "He was talking to me about his past and said he wasn't Bible John. He didn't seem that fussed about it.

"I believe him when he says about not being Bible John as he said stuff about his other murders that haven't been made public.

"Maybe he wants to get stuff off his chest before he dies, but it's stomach-churning."

Cops also investigated whether he has links to the Bible John killings but could not find any evidence.

The Scottish Prison Service does not comment on individuals.
