Edinburgh Pride marchers have best reaction to stony-faced anti-gay protester

Pride marches in Scotland are seen by most as a fabulous, colourful celebration of diversity.

But some people still believe these great celebrations of LGBT are wrong and one stony-face protester decided to make his views clear during the Edinburgh Pride march today

He stood there amongst the marchers, with an expression that would turn milk, holding a placard declaring that marriage should only be between a man and a woman.

But marchers were determined not to let him ruin their fun and one was filmed dancing VERY enthusiastically just in front of the protester.

Video footage of the display was quickly shared on social media and the dancer was praised for his reaction to the protester.

@BellaRizinti wrote: "Dance 'em into silence. Give that person a drink!"

A host of Twitter users tweeted the pride emoji and symbols of love, while @LalaLeino, referring to the dancer, simply put: "LEGEND."

Thousands of people have attended the parade in the Scottish capital, which this year had the theme 'This Is Me'.

It's exactly 50 years since the Stonewall riots of 1969 in New York, an uprising by young LGBT people that changed the face of the gay rights movement in the US and beyond.
