Edinburgh police shut down street as forensic tent put up outside homes

Police officers rushed to a Leith address this morning as photos emerged of a forensic tent in a residential street.

The incident appears to have taken place at Hermitage Court off Academy Park in the Lochend area of the city.

A number of police cars and an ambulance are gathered outside the flats off Easter Road with officers spotting in the area.

A police command vehicle is among the units scrambled to the scene before midday.

One photo shows a police cordon in place and an office standing watch outside homes.

The blue forensic tent has now been put up as officers continue to work from the scene.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
