Edinburgh police raced to the scene earlier today as a car was flipped onto roof at Hermiston Gait. The car ended up on its roof on the outskirts of Edinburgh Friday September 9, after an apparent collision with an articulated lorry.
The dramatic crash happened shortly after midday on the east side of the Hermiston Gait Interchange roundabout, which connects the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass and the A71 with the M8 Edinburgh to Glasgow motorway.

Debris was visible on the road in front of the lorry and the airbags in the car, a 10 month old Nissan Qashqai Nconnecta hybrid electric, had deployed.
A white-haired woman, believed to be the driver of the overturned vehicle, was being tended to at the roadside while other motorists checked the rear of the car.
Officers from Police Scotland's Road Policing division arrived at the scene within minutes. Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
