Police in Edinburgh have been patrolling the union canal recently, amid reports of a man 'pushing people in to the water'.
Officers took to social media last night, April 28, to inform locals in the South West of the city that they are out and about walking along the canal after hearing reports of a '60-year-old' man pushing walkers in to the water.
The post on Twitter was specifically regarding the Meggetland area of the canal and it is understood that the man targeted various individuals.

The Union Canal stretches all the way from the city centre, to Falkirk, and is popular with walkers and commuters every single day.
Throughout the years it has been the scene of certain crimes, including attacks on cyclists and walkers along the water-side path.
At 5pm last night, Edinburgh Police tweeted: "We're patrolling the canal this evening. We've had reports of a white man, 60ish, possibly tanned complexion, 5'7"-5'10", medium to stock build with grey/balding hair pushing people into the water in the area of Meggetland.
"Any info? Call 101 or Crimestoppers."
