Edinburgh police lock down Corbiehill Road after man collapses and dies

An Edinburgh street was locked down by police after a man collapsed and died on Wednesday morning.

Officers rushed to the scene, on Corbiehill Road in the Davidson's Mains area, shortly before midday after the 81-year-old fell ill.

A road closure was put in place as other emergency services arrived on the scene.

Police say the pensioner was pronounced dead a short time later, and there are no suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Edinburgh received a report of a concern for person on Corbiehill Road around 11.45am on Wednesday, 2 June.
