Edinburgh police launch new speeding crackdown in Saughton and catch seven drivers

Edinburgh police have been patrolling local roads and cracking down on speeding drivers in recent weeks.

Corstorphine community officers joined forces with the Police Scotland's Road Policing unit to carry out checks on Tuesday.

The checks were carried out as part of operation close pass, an initiative to ensure cyclists are safe on the roads.

Previously, the operation saw more than 50 drivers stopped in one day on Duke's Walk at Holyrood Park.

This time police targeted Saughton Road North. Officers say they pulled over eight drivers to speak to them, while seven were reported for speeding offences.
