Edinburgh police launch appeal to find missing Gloucestershire schoolboy thought to be in Leith

Fears have been raised over the safety of a teenager thought to have travelled to Edinburgh from the Cotswolds.

Jack Langhorn was last seen in Chipping Campden almost two weeks ago and an appeal has now been launched to trace his whereabouts.

The market town is located more than 330 miles from the Capital, near Cheltenham.

Police in Gloucestershire believe the 15-year-old may be in the Leith area of the city after making the journey on Sunday, May 2.

He was last seen in Porter Close at around 8:30pm that evening but has failed to make contact with family or friends since.

Officers in England are now liaising with their Scottish colleagues in an attempt to locate the schoolboy and have asked anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

Jack is described as being of a pale white complexion, around 5ft 8ins tall, with short red hair, and a slim build.

When last seen, the teenager was said to be wearing a black woolly beanie hat with a white motif on the front, black body warmer, on top of a grey jumper and dark tracksuit bottoms.

Officers from Gloucestershire constabulary say it is likely he travelled to Edinburgh via a combination of walking and public transport.

They also believe he may have travelled to Scotland via Cumbria before travelling to the East Coast.

Police are appealing for anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 and quote incident 396 of 2 May.
