Edinburgh police issue urgent CCTV images as they hunt for man on local train

British Transport Police have released urgent CCTV images as they try to track down a man pictured on an Edinburgh train.

Officers are hunting for the man who they "would like to speak to" after an incident occurred on the train he was traveling on.

According to the appeal, an incident had taken place on board the 10.23pm service from Edinburgh Waverley to Helensburgh Central.

Although no specific details about the incident have been released, it is confirmed to have happened at around 10.23pm as the train left Haymarket station.

Officers believe that the male shown in the images may have information that can assist them with their investigation and would urge the male shown or any members of the public who recognise him to contact police.

He is described as late 30's/early 40's, slim build, with brown unkept hair and a scruffy appearance.
