Edinburgh police cordon off section of Arthur's Seat after man found seriously injured

A section of Edinburgh's Holyrood Park has been cordoned off by police after a man was found seriously injured.

Images show an ambulance and several police vehicles at the scene of an incident in the park, with police tape closing off a small area close to Arthur's Seat.

Emergency services have been in the area since early on Wednesday morning after the alarm was raised around 6am.

Queen's Drive – the road through the park – remains open at present.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Edinburgh Live: "Around 6.10am on Wednesday, 9 June, we received a report of a man seriously injured in the Holyrood Park area. He has been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Officers remain at the scene conducting enquiries."
