Edinburgh police cordon off Hunter Square near Royal Mile

Pictures have emerged of police attending an incident at Hunter Square near Edinburgh's Royal Mile in the early hours.

According to the Daily Record, several police vans and an ambulance were spotted at the scene where a police cordon was set up at around 10 pm last night.

The cordon begins at the steps of Tron Kirk and stretches all the way to the back of Hunter Square.

Update: (11:03 27 February) A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10pm on Friday, 26 February, officers in Edinburgh responded to reports of a concern for person in Hunter Square.

“Emergency services attended and a 35-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he remains in a stable condition.”
