Police in Edinburgh have confirmed a body was found this week after a sudden death.

Officers had raced to a property in Granton on Tuesday night (July 6), where the 34-year-old man was found dead.

Reports had been made to the emergency services just after 10.15pm, with officers quickly heading to the home on Waterfront Avenue in Granton.

According to the Record, officials in white forensic suits had been seen entering the building in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, however at this time there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A report will now be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.15pm on Tuesday, 6 July, officers were called to a property on Waterfront Avenue, Edinburgh, following the sudden death of a 34-year-old man.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained, pending post-mortem, however there is not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
