Edinburgh police charge motorists and seize vehicle in Portobello speeding crackdown

Multiple motorists in Edinburgh were charged with driving offences in a recent speeding crackdown, police have confirmed.

Police officers targeted the Portobello area of the city on the look out for speedy drivers after they received complaints from the local community.

One driver even had their vehicle removed after they were caught driving in the beach side area without a license.

Police Edinburgh took to twitter to update the local community on the problem, penning: "Yesterday Community Officers and Roads Policing Officers carried out speed checks in the Portobello area.
