There is no such thing as too many house plants, and we even have scientific evidence to back that up.
With people stuck at home due to COVID-19, bringing the some greenery into your house, especially if you don't have a garden, can be a really easy way to boost your mood and refresh a room.
WebMD agrees, with their website saying research has shown indoor plants can boost your mood, help with allergies and act as natural air purifiers.
But with Edinburgh on lockdown, and garden shops including Dobbies Edinburgh closed, we've searched around for the places you can still buy plants online, for both indoor and outdoor settings.
Grow Urban Edinburgh
Grow Urban is a smaller online retailer, which only delivers within the the boundaries of the Edinburgh City bypass.
They sell everything from easy to care for spider plants, as well as cacti and hanging plants.
You can also pick up a gift card which they will deliver across the UK, the perfect present whilst we are unable to visit friends and family.
Pentland Plants
Pentland Plans is another independent retailer. Due to overwhelming demand during the current crisis they currently aren't taking any new orders, but their website advises to check back soon for updates.
MacPlants
MacPlants, a family run business based in Pentcaitland, East Lothian, is still operating an online mail order service.
The business doesn't have a selection of indoor plants, so if you are looking to spruce up your garden it might be the perfect to start looking.
Five Sisters Zoo in West Lothian
Five Sisters Zoo are currently selling plants online in order to help fund the care of their animals.
They're advertising various plants on their Facebook page, the most recent offer was £24.00 for tray of 18. You can email them for a full list of the plants they have on offer. You can find out more here.
