An Edinburgh pensioner is helping raise awareness around dementia through music as her charity single quickly climbs up the charts.
Edinburgh Live first told how 83-year-old Margaret Mackie, who suffers from dementia herself, stunned staff and other residents with her rendition of Frank Sinatra's My Way.
A clip of Margaret performing the hit alongside part-time singer Jamie Lee Morley, 31, at Northcare Suites Care Home Christmas party quickly went viral.
The duo have since recorded the track and made it available to buy in a bid to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society and Dementia UK.
The duet was officially released on Wednesday and has already reached the top ten, climbing to No.7 in the iTunes top 40 UK Pop in just two days.
Manchester-born Jamie said in an emotional clip on Facebook that he had been "absolutely bowled over by the response", adding: "Thank you all so much, it means the world to everyone involved [...] I cannot say how amazing it is, we are in the official top ten."
The song is available to buy on: iTunes, Amazon Music and Google play.
