Edinburgh parrot has owner in stitches as it jokes 'ken what a mean' on video

An Edinburgh parrot has racked up over five million views online after it was caught saying 'ken what a mean and aw' on camera.

Onion, an African Grey, has become somewhat of a social media sensation after sharing his strong Edinburgh accent and all of the phrases that come with it.

An expert at impersonation, Onion has been caught on camera with a number of phrases such as "aye", "shut the windaes hen" and more over the last year, however his most recent compilation has to be the best.

Filmed by owner Cody Stoddart, a TikTok of Onion shows him responding to a series of questions, such as 'do you want to live in another home' and 'would you eat a steak pie?'.

In response, Onion is heard replying with phrases such as "aye" and "Jesus", before responding with "‘you can say that ken what a mean and aw."

Probably one of the most Edinburgh phrases you can get, it appears that Onion is well and truly one of us and we expect to see him eating chips with salt and sauce in no time.

With over five million views on the clip, one user commented: "Omg I've never heard a Scottish parrot before."

Another joked: "Onion sounds just like a wee old lady I love it!"

One commenter even replied: "A Scottish talking parrot... I think my life is now complete."

You can find all of Onion's videos here.
