Edinburgh park cordoned off and police at scene after early morning attack

Edinburgh's Dalmeny Street Park has been cordoned off by police following an assault.

Officers spent much of the morning positioned at the Dalmeny Street entrance to the park with the area taped off to the public.

One police vehicle could be seen parked on the street, which is in Leith, around 9am on Thursday although there was an additional police presence in the area as enquiries were carried out by officers.

Police Scotland say the attack happened shortly after 3am on Thursday but they are still trying to establish the full circumstances.
