Edinburgh panto star Grant Stott shares touching tribute to late co-star Andy Gray

An Edinburgh panto star has shared a touching tribute to his late co-star on social media.

Grant Stott shared the moving post about Andy Gray on Twitter with a picture of his old dressing room captioned: “This year I’m in your room, at your mirror with you by my side. “This one’s for you ma big China.”

Andy Gray died in NineWells Hospital Dundee last year shortly before Christmas from Covid-19 after recovering from a rare blood cancer.

The Perth-born star was a well known face in the Edinburgh theatre scene, as well as for his roles on popular Scots tv shows such as soap River City and the 1980s comedy City Lights.

His 31-year-old daughter will be performing alongside Grant Stott in the Edinburgh pantomime of Sleeping Beauty this year at the King’s Theatre.

After following in her dad's footsteps Claire said what a special dedication it will be to star in the show with his co stars.

The pantomime begins tonight at 7pm and runs until Thursday 19 of January.
