The next Edinburgh pantomime has been confirmed and it's due to take place at a change of location whilst the famous King's Theatre receives a makeover.
Capital Theatres have confirmed that Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will take centre stage at the end of the year and start of next, with pantomime favourites Grant Scott, Allan Stewart and Jordan Young all taking part.
Instead of the usual King's Theatre destination, the Festival Theatre will take the reigns of showcasing one of Edinburgh's most popular events at the end of the year.
The show will be in town from Saturday 17 December to Sunday 22 January 22 2023, giving panto lovers plenty time to secure the latest Edinburgh instalment.
Allan will play 'Nurse May', Grant will play the 'Henchman' and Jordan will play 'Muddles.' After a successful return at the end of last year, the crew are most excited than ever to be back on the big stage.
Fiona Gibson, Chief Executive of Capital Theatres said: "We’re excited to be hosting Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Festival Theatre while the panto’s usual beloved home, the King’s Theatre, undergoes its transformational redevelopment.
"The story promises some super-sized fun on the Festival’s larger stage and of course we’re delighted to welcome back Allan, Grant and Jordan –mainstays of our Capital Theatres family and firm audience favourites."
During the summer, the historical King's Theatre is set to undergo a huge £25 million redevelopment to improve facilities for both staff and customers, helping add to the long-term preservation of the iconic building for years to come.
Chief Executive of Crossroads Pantomimes, Michael Harrison said: "I am delighted the talented trio will be back in Edinburgh to perform in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs next year. Every year they bring their wit, talent and charisma to the stage and it’s an absolute joy to work with them. I am already looking forward to this year and we will be announcing further casting in due course."
Further casting for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be released in due course.
Booking opens for the general public on Monday 21 February 2022 on the Capital Theatres website.
