Edinburgh office and retail block sold in £9.1m deal

An Edinburgh property which is home to tenants including a law firm has been sold in a £9.1 million deal.

Causewayside House has been disposed of by Leicester-based real estate investment trust Custodian to an unnamed buyer.

It acquired the four-storey property on Causewayside, which has two ground floor retail units with offices above, as part of a portfolio in 2016.

Current occupants include law firm Digby Brown. Offices to let in the building are being marketed by estate agent Knight Frank .

Richard Shepherd-Cross, managing director of Custodian Capital said the investment group saw limited opportunities for future rental growth at the site and believe the disposal proceeds can be “redeployed on property with better income and capital growth prospects”.

The Custodian trust owns property across the central belt as well as a unit on the Kirkhill Industrial Estate in Aberdeen.
