Edinburgh has been named the best Urban UK city to visit for 2021 in the National Geographic Travel Readers Awards.
The city stood out amongst its competitors in the prestigious awards for its lofty views and medieval secrets of the Old Town and Georgian New Town.
It's not the first time the capital has been recognised by such a huge organisation. Earlier this month, two Edinburgh restaurants were named in the National Geographic list for best in Scotland.

Last year, one of the world's biggest magazine's also named the city as one of the most 'forward-thinking' cities in the world, due to advances in environmental issues and efficiency.
Those who have lived in Edinburgh all their lives will be well aware of how prestigious the capital is, but to hear it is equally appreciated from outsiders is always nice to see.
National Geographic named Edinburgh as the second-most visited city in the UK, and for good reason.
They said: "It's home to narrow, cobbled passageways bristling with legends; an iconic castle; and a lofty peak from which to see it all spread out before you. What's more, the city's medieval Old Town and Georgian New Town are abuzz with culture thanks to a year-round roster of arts festivals.
"Add to this some of Scotland's finest foodie hangouts and Leith Walk's cool cocktail spots, as well as opportunities for sojourns into the Highlands, and you have all the makings for a matchless city break."
Every year, National Geographic open the votes for the Readers Travel Awards for lovers of travel to vote for their favourite.
As well as the award that was handed to Edinburgh, the Best City Award went to Barcelona, Best Short-Haul Destination was awarded to Italy, Best Long-Haul Destination was Japan and the award for Best UK Destination in the rural category went to The Lake District National Park.
The two other finalists alongside Edinburgh for the best Urban UK City were London and Bath, with both coming up trumps with what they have to offer in the way of rich history and culture.
