Edinburgh has been awarded as one of 'the best cities to travel to in the UK'.
We may be slightly biased, but Edinburgh has such much to offer from things to do, to great scenery and nightlife.
This is probably why it was voted second in the Condé Nast Traveller awards.
As voted for by Condé Nast Traveller’s readers in the Readers’ Choice Awards 2021, Edinburgh has trumped Glasgow, Manchester and Liverpool.
Divia Thani, Global Editorial Director of Condé Nast Traveller said: “As restrictions ease, it is clear that our readers have spent much of the last year and a half dreaming about travel and planning future adventures.
“The diversity and vibrancy of our Readers’ Choice Award winners represent a desire to get back out into the world and experience the best of what the travel industry has to offer.”
But that is not all Edinburgh has to offer as our great city also bagged two wins for the best hotels in the UK (excluding London).
The prestigious Waldorf Astoria- The Caledonian beat the University Arms Hotel, Autograph Collection in Cambridge and Glencoe House.
And in ninth, The Balmoral, A Rocco Forte Hotel never fails to let their guests down.
Both The Balmoral and The Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh are prestigious hotels that offers a luxury stay.
We've tried The Pompadour, the restaurant by Masterchef finalist Dean Banks in the Waldorf Astoria and we can see why the hotel has made the top ten list.
We were also given an insight into how The Balmoral is run when the hotel opened their doors to a film crew and Channel 5 showed the nation just what it takes for the level of perfection.
This follows a long line of award winning hotels, restaurants and pubs in Edinburgh. It really is the city that just keeps on giving.
Better luck next time, Glasgow.
