Edinburgh motorists warned of delays with various roadworks scheduled this week

Edinburgh motorists are being warned of delays due to various road works in the city this week.

The City of Edinburgh Council have advised that from tomorrow (Monday, November 8) there will be works at Sleigh Drive, causing parts of the road to be closed, as carriageway resurfacing gets underway.

Temporary traffic lights will also be in operation at Restalrig Terrace, with Cityfibre responsible for the works.

And Scottish Power will also be in the capital city to carry out maintenance and this will see more temporary lights tomorrow at Grange Terrace.

There could also be congestion on the M8 motorway, with repairs to barriers forcing the closure of some lanes on the road.

These works on the B792 Bridge to Easter Inch Footbridge) and the M8 Eastbound will occur tomorrow (Monday, November 8) from 8pm to the next morning at 6am.

And finally North Bridge will be closed in each directions from 8am to 6am for three nights, with diversions in place.

The southbound lane will reopen each following morning, but the northbound road will remain closed.

The works are being competed by housing developer Balfour Beattie and will start on November 13 and end on the 16th.
