Huge mile-long queues have been spotted on a major Edinburgh main road following refurbishment works on a railway bridge.
Motorists travelling southbound from South Queensferry towards the city are currently facing tailbacks of multiple miles due to a closure between the M90 Junction 1 and M9 Junction 1A.
The closure is due to ongoing refurbishment work on the bridge carrying the M90 over the railway just north of M9 Junction 1A Kirkliston, with the busy route set to close for this weekend and another weekend in October.

One motorist, travelling to South Queensferry from Barnton, filmed a minute-long video of the queues drivers are sitting in travelling towards the city and said it could take hours to clear.
The said the queue goes on "for miles" and was barely moving for the duration they travelled past it on the northbound side of the main road. Traffic Scotland have also alerted road users to the delays on Saturday, tweeting: "M90 southbound Junction 1A. Heavy traffic on the way into Edinburgh due to the closure southbound after junction 1 Scotstoun to allow for weekend essential roadworks."
One user seemingly caught up in the huge traffic jam replied: "An utter disgrace yet again. Closing a road, diverting where the traffic lights let 4/5 cars through before changing again. Serious thought should have gone into this."
Another commented: "The roads around South Queensferry & Kirkliston are all completely blocked, good job everyone involved."
On the BEAR Scotland website, they stated: "The M90 will be closed southbound between Junction 1 and M9 Junction 1A from 20:30 on the night of Friday 14 October until 06:00 on Monday 17 October. Traffic will be diverted via the A90, A902 Maybury Road and the A8."
They added that over each weekend of the project, the existing bridge deck surfacing and waterproofing will be removed and any underlying concrete repairs will be undertaken before a new waterproofing system is applied, the bridge is resurfaced and expansion joints are reinstated.
