Edinburgh Monarchs show off newcomers while Armadale Devils announce their new captain

Local speedway teams the Edinburgh Monarchs and Armadale Devils are set to begin the 2022 season this Friday.

Last Friday at a ‘press and practice’ event the Monarchs unveiled their new race suits for the season - with fans appreciating the striking colour scheme of blue, gold, and tartan.

The team also showed off newcomers to the line-up: Jacob Hook and Lasse Fredriksen - who performed their first laps round the Armadale shale for the press.

Hook would be the first of the two out and looked more than tidy as he showed his ability to turn the bike holding a tight inside line.

Lasse was next out and took a little longer to get dialled in - but the new Norwegian feels more than ready for the Monarchs opener in a couple
of weeks.

Announced the very same day at a season launch event, it was revealed that Tom Woolley will lead the Armadale Devils as club captain for 2022.

The Armadale Devils open their season next Friday night when the Berwick Bullets come to Armadale. The Edinburgh Monarchs will have to wait until April 15th to take on Berwick’s senior outfit the Bandits.
