Edinburgh Mexican diner to be transformed by new owner

Well-known Edinburgh Mexican restaurant Pancho Villa's is to be reopened as a pop-up branch of The Apartment after being sold for more than £100,000.

The owners of the Edinburgh Old Town venue are to retire after running it for more than 30 years and have sold the lease to Ruori Stewart, who also owns The Apartment at Barclay Place in Bruntsfield.

He plans to run it as a pop-up restaurant until it is refurbished as a new dining concept.

Tony Spence, business Agent at selling agent Christie & Co , said: "Pancho Villa’s generated a good amount of interest from the outset and an experienced tenant was secured after a quick closing date was set.

“The market remains interesting with commercial properties continuing to attract interest from investors, experienced multiple operators and first-time buyers."
