Edinburgh is set to be hit with heavy rainfall on Bank Holiday Monday, so it's bad news for those planning to spend the day off work outdoors.
The Met Office forecast reveals rotten conditions for much of the afternoon, with the worst to arrive around 4pm.
With the weather generally having been acceptable this weekend – with some bright, sunny spells – many people enjoyed a rare Saturday and Sunday meeting friends and family outdoors in private gardens, parks and beer gardens.
However the weather could put paid to similar plans come the start of the new week with rain expected for much of Monday.
According to the Met Office there's a 60 per cent chance of some showers from midday, although these aren't likely to be too heavy.
Things are likely to take turn for the worse around 4pm, when there's a 90 per cent chance of heavy rain – and these downpours are expected to continue throughout the night.
Temperatures are likely to be around 7C and 6C for the most part, although it'll feel much colder.
So it's safe to say you'll want to pack the waterproofs if you are planning to venture out and about in the city.
Full details of the forecast can be found on the Met Office website.
