The Real Mary King's Close have announced they will be running a series of spooky candlelit tours this month as the 'haunted' spot celebrates Halloween.
Known for their gateway into the city's dark and gruesome history, the attraction will be offering some slightly different experiences to get you in the mood for October 31.
Launching two new tours, the 'Lantern Led' tour will take visitors on a journey underground by candlelight with a character tour guide and surprise special residents from the past.

Separating fact from fiction, True Crimes Tour will venture through Mary King’s Close’s blood-curdling past, including witch trials and the crimes of the infamous grave robbers and murderers, Burke and Hare.
With both running from October 15-31, Paul Nixon, General Manager for The Real Mary King’s Close said:
“Here at The Real Mary King’s Close, we want to share the stories of the people who lived on the Close and Halloween is a wonderful time to explore the city’s past. Running Friday to Sunday, Lantern Led Tours give an immersive look into Edinburgh’s dark past, exploring the hidden streets by lamp light. The True Crimes Tour is not for the faint hearted and is only open to those over 18 and brave enough to uncover Edinburgh’s true dark history.
“We’re also partnering with two local businesses for food and drink pairings. Visitors joining the Lantern Led Tours from 28 - 31 October can enjoy a delicious 3-course dinner at Amber Restaurant with The Scotch Whisky Experience for £40 while True Crime buffs can enjoy a specially crafted cocktail at McGonagall’s Gin & Whisky Emporium for an additional £7.50.”
