A love-struck Edinburgh man sent disturbing footage to an ex-lover, threatening to burn her belongings as he stood next to a bin, chanting 'burn baby burn'.
Kristofer Howden, 32, sent the threatening video to his ex-girlfriend's phone as she enjoyed a drink with a friend, at the pub.
Howden later turned his attention to her female friend and threatened her also, saying, "Don’t get between the woman I love and me right now.”
The 32-year-old appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, October 5, and admitted to two charges of threatening or abusive behaviour, the Daily Record reports.
Fiscal depute Ross Price stated that Howden's former partner was in a bar with a pal when she received threatening messages on her mobile.
Mr Price said that one message was a video that depicted Howden “standing over a garden bin and saying ‘burn baby burn.'"
The court also heard that Howden had threatened to destroy the unnamed woman's belongings, and sent a thread of texts that contained "abusive language".

Mr Price said the woman's friend received messages on Facebook from Howden, with one reading, "Answer the call you little c***", and another that said, "Answer or I'm coming".
Price said that dad-of-one Howden, and the woman had entered into a relationship in December 2018.
Howden admitted sending her abusive messages and a video on February 10 and 11 2019 and to the woman’s pal on February 10 that year.

Defence agent Kenny Woodburn said the couple’s relationship was “well and truly over” and Howden hadn’t contacted the woman.
Sheriff John Cook deferred sentence on Howden, of the city’s Granton area, for six months for him to be of good behaviour.
