Edinburgh man rushed to hospital as police lockdown street over 'disturbance'

A young man has been rushed to hospital in Edinburgh after police were forced to lockdown a street following a disturbance.

The 32-year-old was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on Sunday night (August 28) after the incident, which is reported to have involved a blade.

A large emergency response had attended the scene on Parkgrove Road in Clermiston, after initial reports were made at around 7.50pm.

Cordons had been put in place by officers around a section of the road after the 32-year-old was found injured in the street, where he was attended to by medics, reports the Record.

The extent of his injuries is currently unclear.

Images taken at the scene showed a number of police vehicles in attendance, while plain clothes officers were seen making enquiries in the area.

It is understood that the event was 'isolated', and that there is no threat to the wider public.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50pm on Saturday, 28 August, 2022, officers were called to a report of a disturbance on Parkgrove Road in Edinburgh.

“A 32-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he remains. “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
