Edinburgh man in hospital after 'serious assault' by two men in Ferry Road

A man has been rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted by two others in Edinburgh .

Emergency services were called to the scene on Ferry Road at around 6pm on Saturday.

Images on social media show a cordon being put up at the scene, with part of the major road being closed off to the public.

Police since confirmed that one man was taken to hospital as a result of the incident for non life-threatening injuries, with another currently in police custody.

Police close off Ferry Road in Edinburgh amid ongoing incident  

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers were called to Ferry Road, Edinburgh, regarding a report of a man having been seriously assaulted by two males.

"The victim has been taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

"One male is currently in police custody in connection with the incident."

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information are being urged to contact police by calling 101 quoting incident number 3353 of March 23, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
