Locals have been warned to be on the lookout for a man trying car doors in the Leith area after he was caught on CCTV.
Footage shared with Edinburgh Live shows the man walking down Argyle Street in Leith over the weekend attempting to open car doors.
Posting clips of the footage on social media, one local woman warned it had been "going on for a while".
The hooded man, wearing a tracksuit and white trainers, can be seen trying the door of a black car before moving on to a blue car parked nearby.
The footage was caught on CCTV outside someone's home.
The incident was not reported to Police Scotland.
Some commented saying it showed how valuable home CCTV can be to warn locals of potential crime in their area.
