Edinburgh man caught boxing with Spaces for People bollard in city centre

An Edinburgh man was caught on camera as he picked a fight with a bollard in the city centre.

In a video posted on popular video app TikTok, the man could be seen standing on a road island at Sciennes in the city centre before taking out some aggression on the post.

The bollards have popped up over large swathes of Edinburgh over the last two years, and have been used to help implement the Spaces for People scheme.

A temporary fixture, the bollards have heavy bases with lighter posts, which the gentleman had discovered and began to use to his advantage.

In a hilarious clip posted on social media, the individual was then seen to use the bollard as a punchbag, throwing out a few rounds of punches as the post bounced back.

Looking to be extremely focussed and concentrated on getting some good training, the man was oblivious to passers by and the couple who had filmed a quick clip from their car.

The caption stated that the unusual boxing had been filmed at 10am on Sunday morning, with user @yesurg adding:

"Welcome to Edinburgh... they make your day!"

Turns out the Spaces for People bollards have more uses than we thought!
