Edinburgh man calls out drivers parked in segregated cycle lanes on George IV Bridge

Cars can be seen parked in new cycle lanes introduced by Edinburgh Council in a video clip which has gone viral online.

Edinburgh man John Mitchell took to Twitter in frustration as he spotted a number of cars parked in segregated cycle lanes on George IV Bridge.

John said he was forced to move into the road to get around parked cars in the cycle lane.

The City of Edinburgh Council has introduced a number a new measures to encourage active travel under its Spaces for People initiative.

As well as temporary, pop up cycle lanes they have also introduced widened pavements for pedestrians and closed a number of city centre roads to private vehicles for all or part of the day.

The measures are intended to help with social distancing in the city centre during the coronavirus crisis.
