Edinburgh Macklin Motors stores reopen to serve key workers during the coronavirus pandemic

Macklin Motors have announced they will reopen to serve key workers amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

It comes as Boris Johnson closed down all "non-essential" buildings, urging everyone to stay at home where possible.

Macklin Motors, will serve essential repairs for the emergency services, critical utilities and people classed as a key worker at their four stores across the capital. 

Macklin Motors have a cluster of Edinburgh stores that can now be accessed by those who may need it.

The dealerships are:

Macklin Motors Edinburgh East Hyundai Seafield Road East, Edinburgh

Macklin Motors Edinburgh Kia Seafield Road East, Edinburgh

Macklin Motors Edinburgh Mitsubishi Seafield Road East, Edinburgh

Macklin Motors Edinburgh Suzuki Seafield Road East, Edinburgh

Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu Motors plc, said: “Although our dealerships are temporarily closed for vehicle sales and routine servicing and repairs.

"Like many businesses we are doing what we can to assist key workers, the most vulnerable and crucial logistics.

"The dealerships are providing servicing and repairs to keep these people in Edinburgh and the surrounding area on the road.”
