Edinburgh M8 to close to traffic due to Network Rail inspection

The M8 will shut to traffic this month so that a rail bridge can be inspected.

The motorway will be off-limits to motorists for two nights while teams from Network Rail get to work checking the structure, west of junction two near Newbridge.

BEAR Scotland say that the eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight on July 13 – from 10pm to 6am – at junction two. The westbound section will be shut at junction three at Livingston during the same hours the following night.

Diversions will be in place eastbound from junction three via the A899, A89 and Newbridge Roundabout to M8 junction two. Westbound traffic will use the same diversion only in reverse.
