Edinburgh LOVE Gorgie Farm shut down after suffering massive flood

Popular attraction LOVE Gorgie Farm has been shut down after suffering a massive water leak.

Bosses said it will have to close all day on Friday due to health and safety reasons but have rest assured customers that the café remains open.

The farm, which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, broke the news to potential visitors in an early morning social media post.

Owners of the much-loved Gorgie Road venue took to Facebook to confirm a 'severe water leak' had resulted in electrical issues in the main building.

The post reads: “Unfortunately we have had to close the farm for today for health and safety reasons, as we have a severe water leak and resulting issues in the main building. The café at the farm will remain open as it is unaffected.”

There were concerns whether an expected visit from Santa to the farm on Friday evening would be able to go ahead.

LOVE Gorgie Farm, previously known as Gorgie City Farm, was recently rescued by Love learning Scotland and has been renovated into a destination for fun and learning for children living in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Details of when the farm might reopen and the extent of the damage were unavailable.
