Edinburgh locals treated to stunning sunset with golden tones

Last night Edinburgh locals from across the capital were treated to a stunning sunset bursting with golden tones as many shared the beautiful snaps on social media.

Although it was cloudy throughout Wednesday, the bright rays still came through early dinner time for the sunset. As it hit 4pm the sun went down across the city and the sky lit up with vibrant pink and purple shades creating a stunning backdrop for many iconic locations all around Edinburgh.

From Princes Street to Leith, and Portobello here are a selection of our favourite sunset scenes from Edinburgh Live readers last night.
