Edinburgh Leith teen 'robbed at knife point' by 'youth on e-scooter'

Police are investigating reports that a teen was ‘robbed at knife point' in Leith by a youth who took off on an e-scooter.

According to the family of the victim, the teenager ‘had a knife pulled out on him’ in the Great Junction Street area at around 8.15pm on Monday (July 26).

The family member reports that a youth ‘wearing a dark grey hoodie brandished a knife before stealing the teen's phone.’

A police spokesperson said: "Officers in Edinburgh are investigating a report that a teenage boy was the victim of a robbery incident in the Great Junction Street area of Leith at around 8.15pm on Monday, 26 July, 2021.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information should report this to Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 3500 of 26 July."
