Edinburgh law firm makes senior appointment

Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has appointed Clare Lomond to its senior team as a managing associate.

She joins from DWF Group and has more than 25 years of experience advising clients on all aspects of real estate work in Scotland.

Lomond has provided advice to commercial landlords and tenants, as well as on the asset management of shopping centres and high value security transactions.

She joins the firm after it hired several senior managers from different legal firms to bolster its Edinburgh team, such as Paul Mason, who left DWF Group to become a partner in the company.

Mason commented: "WBD's real estate practice is one of the largest in the UK and we're delighted to have someone of Clare's caliber join our fast-growing Edinburgh office.

"Clare's proven track record of delivering complex transactions within tight timescales coupled with her strong specialism advising some of the UK's largest retailers, strongly enhances our offering here in Scotland."

Lomond added: "The firm has an impressive real estate and retail client portfolio, bringing many opportunities to work on very exciting projects in Scotland, the rest of the UK and beyond."
