Edinburgh Krispy Kreme is giving FREE doughnuts to anyone who had a birthday in lockdown

Lockdown birthdays took place for over 22 million Brits following the nationwide shutdown in mid-March.

Many had to improvise to find a way to do something fun as bars, restaurants and nightclubs stayed closed across the country.

However, Krispy Kreme is now stepping in to help anybody who had to endure a birthday during lockdown with a wee treat.

As life returns to some sort of a new 'normal', the doughnut shop is handing out free sweet treats to customers who celebrated a birthday in lockdown.

Anyone born between 23 March and July 3 can claim the offer at Krispy Kreme at Hermiston Gait Retail Park, all you need to do is show your ID.

When you show a passport or driving licence, the doughnut maker will then treat you to an original glazed doughnut.
