Edinburgh kids ditch entire campsite at reservoir after all night lockdown party

An entire campsite of belongings was discovered in the Pentland Hills today (Sunday) after a group of teens had enjoyed an all-night party.

Empty bottles, food wrappers and even a tent or wind break were left behind this morning near Harlaw Reservoir, and were quickly spotted by one local walker.

It is not the first time incidents such as these have been seen in the Pentland Hills, with a number of young people taking to the hills during the pandemic for a social gathering.

Over the last year, a host of camping equipment, food and even human debris have been spotted at various sites around the reservoirs and walking routes.

Although less common during the winter months, there have been more incidents of littering and all-night parties as the weather begins to get warmer.

After passing the debris left near Harlaw, the local walker said: "I just passed four lads carrying sleeping bags/mats, clearly had a bit of a do."

Upon seeing the pictures of the rubbish, other residents were left furious at the mess.

One said: "Totally no need, I mean how difficult would it be to take a couple of black bags with them then tidy afterwards."

Another replied: "Beyond me how people can be like this... so inconsiderate."
