Edinburgh jobs: Animal-lovers needed for range of roles at top vet hospital

Are you tired of customer service and would rather work with four-legged friends? Well, this might be your chance.

Skills Development Scotland revealed that "Dick Vet Hospital for Small Animals are recruiting", with roles on offer including animal care assistants.

The hospital is part of Edinburgh University's Royal Dick School for Veterinary Studies, which also operates the Dick Vet GP.

The Hospital for Small Animals and Dick Vet GP provide routine and emergency care for dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and exotic animals.

Described as one of "the most advanced facilities in Scotland", they offer a range of specialist services for animals.

Current roles on offer include a veterinary nurse at the general practice, in emergency and critical care, as well as animal care assistants.

While veterinary nurses require a degree, animal care assistants do not.

They need exceptional organisational and communication skills, ability to use your own initiative, with previous animal handling experience - though, this does not have to be in a vet surgery.
