Edinburgh International Film Festival on the hunt for paid interns for sought-after jobs

Film buffs looking to gain industry experience in the capital can get involved at the Edinburgh International Film Festival as it rolls into town this summer.

Established in 1947, the Festival takes place across two weeks in June, featuring cinema screenings and a whole host of other exciting events.

The organisers have now opened applications for the much sought-after paid internship programme - and there a plenty of roles up for grabs.

These jobs cover everything from administration, to guest services, development roles in fundraising and sponsorship, as well as marketing and industry positions.

One of the top jobs on offer is the role of industry assistant, who will help coordinate events throughout the Festival and produce information and schedules for all participating filmmakers and guests.

There is also a chance to get real-life experience in a marketing role, with a digital content coordinator who will need to put their writing talents to use by creating stories and feature articles for the Festival's site.

Meanwhile, the role of publications editor is also one to look out for if you are hoping to kick start a career in communications. It will be up to the successful candidate to produce material for the brochure, website and catalogue, giving them a chance to showcase their work.

Edinburgh Film Festival is a Real Living Wage Employer, which means you will be paid a minimum wage of £9.30 an hour - which is currently the Living Wage in Scotland.

You can find more information and all the roles on the Edinburgh International Film Festival website here.

Taking to social media, Edinburgh International Film Festival said: "Our PAID Internship Programme is officially OPEN. There are positions available in Marketing, Programming, Industry, Education and more! #edfilmfest is proud to be a Real Living Wage Employer. Our Internship Programme is supported by Aberdeen Standard Investments."
